Throughout Kripalu Yoga’s three-stage approach you are guided to move at your own pace, honoring your body’s needs in each moment. Kripalu Yoga develops the body, mind and spirit, in a compassionate non judgmental way. You leave the class feeling uplifted and centered.
Stage 1 - Willful Practice (Body and Breath Awareness)
Stage 1 begins with an experiential approach to understanding the details of alignment and the coordination of breath while moving into and out of postures.
Stage 2 - Holding the Posture (Inner Focus and Concentration)
Stage 2 guides you to focus your attention on inner sensations, thoughts and emotions. You learn to hold postures for longer periods of time while cultivating compassion and awareness.
Stage 3 - Meditation in Motion (Absorption)
Stage 3 is a unique and personal experience of Kripalu Yoga. You practice the art of moving in response to your body’s wisdom, with postures flowing from one into the next. This experience is often described as a state of prayer expressed in movement.

What is Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy?
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a holistic healing art combining the ancient science of yoga with elements of contemporary body/mind psychology. A session includes touch, assisted yoga postures and client-centered dialogue.
As we move through life, our bodies internalize process and filter our experiences—mostly without our conscious awareness. Our thoughts and feelings remain stored within us and are often the cause of stress, as well as emotions and physical pain or discomfort.
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy offers a way to explore the relationship between your body, your mind and your life in a private context with a certified, highly-trained practitioner. It facilitates the release of physical, mental and emotional tension, often resulting in increased energy.
What is a session like?
In a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy session, you are guided through a sequence of carefully selected, assisted yoga postures and breath work, designed to take you deeper into your internal experience. As you are supported in the postures, your PRYT practitioner guides you in dialogue that concentrates your attention on what you are experiencing. You are invited to explore the sensations, emotions, memories or images that are present in your body.
Each session includes an integration period, to assist you in processing your experience and exploring how you can bring your insights into actions.
Sessions vary between 1 and 1 ½ hours, and clients are advised to wear light and comfortable clothing.
